Gaelic on the Island with Muriel Fisher

Gaelic on the Island is a new variation on Sabhal Mòr Ostaig's Exploring Skye for beginners. It is designed for intermediate learners who are keen to mix Gaelic conversation with discovering Skye and its unique island setting. Course dates: 27/6/2016 - 1/7/2016.

The course is led by Muriel Fisher, a native speaker from Skye and one of Sabhal Mòr's established and experienced short course tutors. Muriel works at the University of Arizona and is the recipient of the Linguistic Society of America's 2015 Excellence in Community Linguistics Award for her work with Scottish Gaelic.

Like Muriel's other courses, the idea is to have fun with Gaelic and use it in the environment. The week consists of enjoyable outings on the island and her neighbouring areas, beginning and ending with entertaining classroom-based lessons – including a scone-baking session on the final morning!
